Julie, my daughter was in from NYC this weekend and got to play with the puppies. We have started to Litter Box train the pups but are trying pads this time. They are made for this purpose and are washable. Both Ms. White and Mr Red have gone in and used the box on their own! Ms Purple did it next to the box but that's a step. It amazes me that at 3 weeks they start to get this concept. Of course there are those like Mr. Blue who sleep half in and half out of the box.
